Trip Overview:
This 7 days trip will unveil to you the marvelous wonders of Bwindi- Gorilla tracking, Lake Bunyonyi which is located in South-western Uganda between Kabale and Kisoro, and Queen Elizabeth national park among others. Lake Bunyonyi is said to be the second deepest lake in East Africa after Lake Tanganyika.

A variety of activities like the cultural tour to the Batwa communities, a boat cruise through the 29 islands of Lake Bunyonyi & not forgetting professional photography at each and every point to capture all those lasting memories. This safari also takes you on an adventurous trip to Murchison Falls national park one the most famous and visited parks in Uganda, this safari offers thrilling and entertaining safari activities such as wildlife spotting, and gorilla tracking among
others

Tour Highlights:
Gorilla tracking experience – which is one of the popular tourist activities where you get a chance to trek one of the habituated gorilla families. You get a chance to trek into the dense rainforest on the mountain slopes. The journey through dense greenery and up steep climbs is abundantly rewarded with the lifetime experience of viewing mountain
gorillas in their natural habitat. Not forgetting the mind-blowing tourism photography sessions throughout the whole trip where we shall be capturing all the moments and the stunning views of Lake Bunyonyi.

Cultural community experience – offers a glimpse into this marginalized community’s historical lifestyles perspective of village life showcasing cultural norms of the Batwa.

Experiential game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park – Which is a lion tracking experience that usually lasts for about 2 to 3 hours to get to see the predators like lions, and leopards, among others that are being tracked. You also get to see different herbivores and carnivores.

Game drives – through the savannah plains of the park while enjoying stunning views of nature and abundant wildlife living in the park such as buffaloes, lions, giraffes, Elephants, gazelles, and various species of antelopes among others. Game drives are done using well-maintained game viewing tracks and the best time for game drives is in the morning hours before the scorching sunrise which forces animals to go into hiding and evening when the conditions are much cooler.

 

Day 1: Pick up from the airport.

On arrival, our driver will pick you up for your transfer at Protea Hotel Kampala Skys.

Day 2: Kampala City Tour

After a delicious breakfast, you will be picked up by our driver for a Kampala city Tour where you will get to visit the different exciting places like Owino market where you will get to see the different fruits sold in our markets and have a chance to taste. You will visit the Gaddafi Mosque and the taxi parks where you will get to see some of our means of transportation. You will get to taste our local food like matooke for lunch then transfer to the hotel for relaxation as you prepare for the long journey to Bwindi Impenetrable.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park:

You will be picked up around 7:00 am from your Hotel in Kampala by our Guide who will brief you about your tour. You will later be driven in a comfortable and secure 4×4 Land cruiser to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the South-West which will take around 9 hours of drive. Lunch will be provided en-route at Mbarara. You will be reaching in the evening at the accommodation in Bwindi.

Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Gorilla Tacking) transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
You will have an early morning breakfast at 6:30 am and with packed Lunch you will move to the park headquarters to join other trackers in a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules at 7:30 am. You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you 1-8 hours. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access by tourists. You will stay with the Gorillas for some time once sited and later you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Boat Cruise and Cultural Tour

After a delicious breakfast, you will start your day with a boat cruise and head for the Batwa cultural experience on the shores of the lake and from one point to another while you enjoy professional photography to capture those lasting wonderful memories. You will head back to your hotel for lunch, after check out and refreshments then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 6: Experiential game drive & Boat Cruise

Early morning breakfast, then go for an early game drive where you will be able to see a variety of animals like Elephants, Giraffes, Antelopes, and, many others as the drive commences. After lunch, you will head over to the Kazinga channel for an afternoon boat cruise with beautiful views as you watch some mammals like the Hippos diving in the water. After, you will proceed to your hotel for dinner and a sleepover.

Day 7: Departure
After a delicious breakfast. You will be picked up by the guide to embark on the journey to Entebbe airport.

❖ Rates are per person and exclude flights from/to your home country.
❖ Package is subject to accommodation availability.
❖ Similar accommodation can be offered if subject properties are not available, the same will be discussed with
you prior to confirming the package.
❖ No hidden costs, if any additional costs, the same will be shared with you.
❖ Medical emergency evacuation cover does not cover medical care/ costs and hospital bills, but the flight and ground transport to the nominated hospital.
❖ What to bring: Comfortable and light clothing, walking boots or trainers, suncream, sunglasses, and mosquito repellent. Language: Swahili and English.
❖ Shopping: There are many street markets and stalls selling local crafts, jewelry, and souvenirs throughout Kenya.
❖ Tour Suitability: Although this tour is classed as moderate, it may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility due to the 4×4 jeeps that are provided on game drives.
❖ Luggage: Due to limited luggage space in vehicles and on internal flights, suitcases are unsuitable for scheduled road safaris. We recommend luggage packed in inexpensive barrel/sausage bags or soft-sided bags not exceeding 15kgs and 65×46 cm. Excess luggage can be handed over to the representative at the time of briefing. Any excess baggage will be handed over to you on your return from safari so best to pack light. An
additional cost of $ 40 USD to pick up and drop off luggage at a specific point will apply.
❖ Tips: Whilst on safari, tipping is customary for drivers, guides, and local escorts USD 10 PPs per day.

 

Package Terms & Conditions


DEPOSIT

Upon written confirmation from Norine Forbes Safaris Ltd, please note that you are required to pay a deposit as outlined in writing at the time of confirmation. You will also receive our company invoice which will state the amount to be paid. A deposit payment can range from 20 – 30% depending on the time frame of booking to the start of the safari.
Depending on the amount, we may request a second installment.

Rest payment must always be 4 – 8 weeks before the commencement of the safari and have reached our account in full. In some cases (last-minute bookings). Norine Forbes Safaris Ltd. reserves the right to request full payment up-front. (Before the start of the safari).

PAYMENT
1) BANK TRANSFERS: In a case, where payment is made by a bank transfer, ALL bank charges are to be paid by the client.

2) CREDIT CARD: Please note, in the case of payments by credit card, a surcharge can be added to cover the processing of payment. (We shall communicate the same to you in writing)

CANCELLATION POLICY

The following cancellation charges will be payable. Should you need to cancel you must notify the supplier (Norine Forbes Safaris Ltd) immediately in writing. In this eventuality your deposit is non-refundable.
Cancellation fee from 90 days and over – Deposit forfeit
Cancellation fee from 90 – 60 days – 50%
Cancellation fee from 59 – 31 days – 75%
Cancellation fee from 30 – 00 days – 100%

ITINERARIES

Demand for Safaris is very high and can lead to a shortage of lodge/hotel accommodation at times during some seasons. All bookings will be confirmed by us in writing as we confirm beforehand from our suppliers. On occasion, changes may be necessary.

Hotels/lodges/camps where specific names are given as an indication of the category and rooms may be reserved at similar hotels/lodges/camps. We undertake to advise you of any changes known to us before departure, but the possibility of change without notice must be accepted when booking. This rarely happens.

Single rooms are available at a supplementary cost. Safari four-wheel drive vehicles or coaches will be provided according to the route and number of participants and as confirmed to you in your booking confirmation. The right is reserved to employ the services of sub-contractors if necessary. English-speaking chauffeurs/guides are provided.

Occasional mechanical problems, changes of lodge or adverse road conditions may in turn end in a changed routing or game viewing without prior notice being given. Therefore, we reserve the right to offer substitutes of equal value or cancel any tour operation. In practice, very few itineraries are affected but a little flexibility, on your part, will ensure that your tour is unique and rewarding.
