Leave Kigali behind as the road climbs through Rwanda's breathtaking terraced hillsides towards Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival, choose between tracking the lively Golden Monkeys through bamboo forests or experiencing the rich traditions of the Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village, where local communities proudly share Rwanda's heritage. The Defining Encounter

Today delivers one of the world's most extraordinary wildlife experiences. Following an early briefing with Rwanda Development Board rangers, begin your guided trek into Volcanoes National Park in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Every trek is unique, with the duration determined by the gorillas' movements. Once found, you'll spend one unforgettable hour quietly observing these remarkable primates as they interact naturally within their forest home. Today's journey reveals another side of Rwanda. Travel south through rolling hills, tea plantations and picturesque villages, stopping to admire the spectacular Twin Lakes and panoramic viewpoints overlooking Lake Kivu. After a leisurely lakeside lunch, continue into Nyungwe National Park, one of Africa's oldest and most biodiverse montane rainforests.

Life Above the Rainforest

Nyungwe Forest to Kigali

Begin the morning tracking wild chimpanzees through Nyungwe's ancient rainforest before experiencing the famous Canopy Walk, suspended high above the forest floor and offering a unique perspective of one of Africa's richest ecosystems. Later, return to Kigali for your onward international departure or choose to extend your stay with a relaxing escape to Lake Kivu.
