Overview
First, begin your 3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari with a warm welcome in Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital. Shortly after arrival, you set off north-west, and next you’ll wind through the emerald slopes that give Rwanda its “Land of a Thousand Hills” nickname. Soon, the volcanic peaks of the Virunga chain emerge on the horizon, signalling your entry into Volcanoes National Park.
Early the following morning, enjoy a detailed briefing, then start your guided trek into the mist-shrouded bamboo forest. After a steady climb, trackers lead you to a gorilla family. At this moment, the forest turns silent and you witness silverbacks, mothers, and playful infants only metres away. For one magical hour, you watch them feed, groom, and interact—an encounter that leaves most travellers speechless.
Later that afternoon, return to your luxury lodge for a hot lunch and sweeping views of the volcanoes. If you wish, visit the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund research centre to learn how conservation keeps these gentle giants safe. Alternatively, immerse yourself in local culture at the Iby’Iwacu Village, where rhythmic dances and traditional crafts tell Rwanda’s story.
Finally, on day three, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and scenic drive back to Kigali. Along the way, stop for photos or shop for handcrafted souvenirs before your onward flight. Overall, this 3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari delivers a seamless blend of wild discovery, luxury comfort, and authentic culture.
